05/15/2007- Belmont-San Carlos Engine Companies 14, Truck Company 13, Battalion Chief 4, San Mateo Engine Company 27, California Department of Forestry & Fire Engine Companies 17, 217, 18 (RIC), and Redwood City Battalion Chief 3 responded to a Structure Fire at a house at 3308 Plateau Drive in Belmont at 6:49 a.m. While units were enroute dispatch was advising there were several calls about a huge fire inside the house. Battalion Chief 5 arrived onscene and established Plateau I/C and reported he had a single family residence fully involved and requested a second alarm bringing Belmont-San Carlos Engine Companies 15, 16, San Mateo Engine Company 23, Redwood City Truck Company 9, Foster City Battalion Chief 6, CDF Battalion Chief 12 , Incident dispatcher, Breathing Support 17, and Peninsula Fire Buffs. Plateau I/C requested the Water Department & PG&E stating that a water main may have broken in the street and a drop line from the house was down in the driveway. I/C then requested Woodside Fire Water Tender 8 respond for water supply due to the water main break. The fire was brought under control around 8 a.m. Units onscene used multiple hand lines to bring the fire under control. One firefighter suffered minor injuries at the fire. The damage is estimated to be around $1 Million. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

5/2/2007- Belmont-San Carlos Fire Department Engine Company 15, Truck Company 13, & Battalion Chief 4 responded to a vehicle accident at 2675 Ralston Ave at the Ralston Intermediate School at 12:36 p.m. While units were enroute dispatch was advising a vehicle versus pedestrian with a subject trapped under the vehicle with possibly more than 1 patient. Upon hearing the info Battalion Chief 4 upgraded the assignment to a Full Assignment Response bringing Engine Companies 14 and 17 and requested a Level 1 Mass Casualty Incident which dispatches another 2 ambulances after the first one. Upon arrival Engine Company 15 advised that there was at least 7 victims and requested a Level 2 and 3 Mass Casualty Incident dispatching more ambulances and an air ambulance. Battalion 4 arrived onscene and established Ralston I/C. Ralston I/C then requested an additional Engine to set up the Landing zone for the helicopter which was CalStar 1. Moments later Ralston I/C requested a second alarm which dispatched Engine Companies 217, 27, 16, 18 (RIC) Truck Company 9, Battalion Chiefs 3, 6 and Breathing Support 17. Ralston I/C then canceled the 2 Battalion Chiefs, the Breathing Support, & Engine 18 as the RIC. In all 14 patients were triaged including the driver and sent to Bay area hospitals, one by CalStar 1 with minor injuries and the rest by a report of 8 ground ambulances.
